I've tried tons of products to get rid of acne and oily skin but nothing works. Are there any natural cures? And are prescription medicines really that bad?

I am an African American female in my mid 40's and i still suffer from acne.I have combination skin with the T Zone very oily,I also have acne scars on both cheeks as whehever there is an outbreak it's all over my face. Prescribed medications only help temporarily, as if they are to be effective I would have to use these medications for life. HELP..

It's been a struggle since I was 12. Nobody else in my family has this problem. I had it SOMEWHAT under control when I was on birth control. But I don't want to be on that anymore, it makes me fat and depressed. So, are there any natural cures that might manipulate that " special" hormone that helps acne? I've recently been told about Agust Castus or chaste tree or Vitex, an extract with more common applications to balancing hormone levels during the menstrual cycle. But can help balance hormone levels during puberty.i tried doing some research and i found The biggest hormone affectors were androgens e.g. testosterone which are known to increase sebum production and thus can lead excessive cultures of skin bacteria in pores. These bacteria release agants which are inflammitory and will attract an immune responce leading to redness and swelling in affected areas, thus acne symptoms. Agnus castus contains compounds 'deterpens' which act on the D2 receptors causing a responce guessing increased dopamine production this inturn supresses levels of prolactin production in the body. I don't understand what effects decreased prolactin levels would have on the enocrine system as a whole and whether this could effect androgens. Vitex does also act as an anapradisiac. Can u help?I have now noted that it is'nt just testosterone but more notably DHT dihydrotestosterone which is more receptive to androgen receptors. Thus more likely to attribute to excessive sebum production.DHT production is apparently high during the process of 'ejaculation'. Where it is converted from testosterone. Still sketchy on the actual dynamics.It is possible to link the anaphradisiacal qualities of Vitex Angust castus to the lessened production of DHT due to loss of 'Libido' or sexual drive. Tho this could just be clutching at straws. What do you think?

I have acne for 2 years now and i have almost forgotten how my face looks without acne,I need help for something to consume so that acne can reduce, I dont trust applying stuffs on the face as they contain harmful chemicals and leave uneven skin colour on the face.I have seen such people.Help please i cant shave also.

I am 23 and have an acne problem. According to my dermatologist, my hormones are yet to stabilise. After 2 treatments, I noticed that the pimples come back right as I near the end of treatment. I am seriously considering a natural and permanent cure this time am open to suggestions. Thx guys

for example diet , water ,exercise ,skin care etceg why would a 13 year old cure acne in a week by eating less refined foods etc but others claim that unrefined foods dont help?Are some people needing a longer period to see a cure and might be also doing something wrong eg using creams or being too inactive or actually cant admit they are failing to keep off refined foods?
